This beautiful studio accommodation for one or two people is the perfect complement to what’s on offer at the restaurant.
In addition to the Restaurant and our Cookschools, we have added a Studio for guests to stay – following that long-established European tradition of offering a ‘room’ with the restaurant.
This is no ordinary room however! Architecturally designed by John Henderson, The Studio is a completely private space, featuring the very best of NZ design and craft – a space we would love you to enjoy, whether you choose to join us at the restaurant for a meal or to stay completely private.

About the Studio
The Studio has been created as a space to relax in, where NZ design gets to be showcased, with wonderful vistas of the native bush beyond.
With a king-size bed to sleep one or two, simple kitchen amenities and a comfortable living space, this accommodation is the perfect complement to your visit to Somerset Cottage.
