Somerset Cottage
Restaurant and Cookschool, established in 1986 and very privileged to still be here doing what we love in Tauranga for over 30 years.
Established in 1986, as a small family owned restaurant, Somerset continues to be run today by Rick and Anne, who are still passionate about all that they do, and focused on embracing the enormous shifts that have happened in the NZ food and wine scene over the time the restaurant has been open.
Sustainability, seasonality, food that tastes delicious, along with a sense of place and warmth of hospitality, and enjoyment in what we do, each and every day, continue to be our driving forces.
We look forward to welcoming you!
Our Hours
Dinner: Wed to Sat, from 5.30pm
Closed from Sunday 21st Dec, reopening on Wed 14th Jan.
30 Bethlehem Rd, Tauranga 3110
Ph: (07) 576 6889
Our Menu
We offer two sides to our menu: our signature dishes and an ever evolving weekly menu where we get to experiment with seasonal ingredients. We also offer an extensive wine list, a selection of NZ craft beers, and a wide range of pre-dinner drinks.
Cook Schools
The Cook Schools have been running for over 25 years now and are a regular part of our year and one that we approach with much enjoyment.
They require nothing from the participants beyond an enthusiasm for good food.
Gift Vouchers
We have 3 types of vouchers available:
Restaurant
Cookschool
Studio ( somersetstudio.co.nz) the accomodation adjacent to the restaurant)
These can be booked online and depending on your choice, either emailed out, or left at the restaurant to be picked up at your convenience
Please note the restaurant is closed from Sunday 21st Dec, until Wed 14th Jan, so pick up from the restaurant won’t be possible over that time. But vouchers can be emailed directly to you.
